When making a decision on your new puppy, there are some things you should consider:
A puppy requires care: Food, water, bathing, toys, and veterinarian check-ups.
Hope-Kennels
Please Remember that we love to get updates on our puppies. Please feel free to contact
us anytime.
We enjoy hearing how you feel about your experience with us and how you and your
new puppy is doing, so please email us your comments along with a picture. If you don't
have any objections, we will list them on our testimonials page.
Please know that your puppy is going through some major changes. He or she is in a
new environment and things are not normal to him or her. If he or she was on a flight or
on a long road trip, it may take a couple of days for him or her to feel secure.
Sometimes, this can cause stomach upset or lack of appetite. If this does occur, I
recommend consulting your veterinarian.
Before Arrival:
Your new Puppy has been eating Black Gold Puppy food. You can usually find this at
your local feed store. If you change the puppy food you may expect some stomach upset.
If you decide to change the puppy's food, you must do it gradually to prevent stomach
upset. I usually recommend 3/4 cup old food and 1/4 cup new food for 3-4 days. Then 1/2
& 1/2 for another 3-4 days.
Shipping:
If shipping is needed, your puppy will be shipped to your choice of major airports. I
normally use Delta Airlines. I only ship on direct flights. Please remember that in
extreme heat and cold, flights can be restricted. I will do my best to ship ASAP.
Once payment is received and flight is booked, I will notify you of the date and time
of arrival, the flight #, and the reference #.
Checklist:
You will need a picture I.D. to pick up your puppy at the airport.
I would suggest that you take some wipes with you. Although your puppy has been
bathed before his or her flight, he or she may have an accident in the puppy crate
during the flight.
Bring a bottle of water with you. There will be a travel bowl attached to the crate.
Please let me know when your puppy has arrived safely. (770) 833-6984
Your New Puppy's Health:
We recommend you take your new puppy to your veterinarian within 48 hours of
his or her arrival.
Vaccinations:
When a puppy leaves my care it is current on vaccinations and dewormings. Please
understand that once the puppy reaches you it will need to be kept on its
vaccination and deworming schedule. It takes a series of vaccinations to build your
new puppy's immunity.
We will always supply you with your new puppy's health record.
We recommend that you purchase a tube of Nutri-Cal Puppy Vitamin supplement.
It helps with the appetite and energy in your new puppy when they are trying to
make the transition to their new home, especially if they are being shipped. You
can purchase this at most pet stores.
